Saturday night, I was floating in the pool. Ears deafened with water. Stars seeming even more distant in the dark sky.

And I heard a voice in my head saying over and over, "…do good things do good things do good things do good things…"

Now I don't normally hear voices, so I'm thinking I should listen.

But, "Do good things"? What kind of message is that?

Simple? Definitely.
Vague? Sure.
Trite? Perhaps.
But as Paul pointed out, "'Do good things' is always better than the alternative."

So, for the time being, that is my new guiding rule.

I think it'll work.

If, at every fork in my life path, I choose to do good things, then I can be pretty sure I'm heading in the right direction.
